Founded by three Latines in the Bay Area in 1983, HIP was born as an affinity group to raise awareness about issues that impact Latine communities within the philanthropic sector. Since then, we’ve expanded into eight areas of focus, opened an office in Mexico City, launched the first bilingual crowdfunding platform for the social sector, and so much more.

40th Anniversary Kickoff Reception
There is much to celebrate in 40 years of HIP - we have expanded from a one-room office organizing in the Bay Area to a transnational network impacting 11 countries. As we approach this important milestone, we are reflecting on HIP’s legacy and its future plans - all of which are informed by our Bay Area roots.
