Colibrí Initiative Impact Report

After three years of the Colibrí Initiative, we're taking a look back at the strategies implemented and insights learned. Colibrí was launched to address climate mobility in the Americas, specifically how climate change intersects with migration and forced displacement and disproportionately affects Latine, Indigenous, and Afro-Descendant communities.

The report outlines the Colibrí initiative's three core strategies:

  1. investing in frontline leadership through grantmaking,
  2. bridging movements by hosting gatherings and summits, and
  3. activating funders through communication and discussions.

It also highlights key insights and provides actionable recommendations for funders, such as the need for cross-sector collaboration between climate and migration movements, the effectiveness of flexible and trust-based funding, and the importance of building networks to strengthen regional agendas.

We invite you to delve into the full report to understand the depth of HIP and our grantee partners' work and the potential for impactful change.
