Hispanics in Philanthropy Convenes Global Latine Leaders in Los Angeles for 2026 Conference: Rooted in Purpose, Rising con Poder

LOS ANGELES, CA (June 2026) — Hispanics in Philanthropy (HIP) will convene philanthropic leaders, grassroots organizers, movement builders, artists, entrepreneurs, and funders from across the Americas for its 2026 annual conference, Rooted in Purpose, Rising con Poder, taking place June 8–10, 2026, in Los Angeles.

At moment when communities across the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean are navigating profound social, political, and economic challenges, the conference will bring together over 800 leaders committed to strengthening democracy, advancing opportunity, and investing in the collective power of Latine communities. 

"Rooted in Purpose, Rising con Poder is grounded in a simple truth: our communities are not waiting to be saved, they are already leading, innovating, and building solutions for the challenges we face. What they need is the level of investment that matches their impact," said Jennifer Chavez Rubio, Interim President and CEO of Hispanics in Philanthropy. "This gathering is about moving past rhetoric toward deeper partnership to challenge philanthropy to invest more deeply in what is already working. At a time when so many people are looking for hope, our communities are creating it every day and they deserve the resources to scale it."

The conference will take place in Los Angeles, one of the most influential Latine cities in the world and a place shaped by generations of migration, organizing, cultural production, and civic leadership. Throughout the gathering, participants will engage directly with local organizations and community leaders whose work reflects the city's long legacy of resilience, innovation, and collective action.

Programming will explore some of the most pressing issues facing communities today, including:

• Defending democracy, civil rights, and immigrant justice in a rapidly changing political landscape.
• Building economic mobility, community wealth, and equitable recovery in the face of growing inequality and climate-related disasters.
• Strengthening multiracial solidarity and community-led infrastructure.
• Investing in arts, culture, narrative power, and independent journalism.
• Advancing LGBTQ+ liberation, gender justice, and the rights of historically marginalized communities.
• Harnessing technology, data, and artificial intelligence for community benefit.
• Reimagining philanthropy and capital to move resources closer to communities.

Featured speakers include award-winning journalist and founder of Futuro Media Maria Hinojosa; James Beard Award-winning Chef, Author, and TV Host, Pati Jinich; artist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist Chiquis; actor, comedian, and cultural icon Cheech Marin; UnidosUS President and CEO Janet Murguía; California Community Foundation President and CEO Miguel Santana; Hispanic Federation President and CEO Frankie Miranda; and dozens of movement leaders, organizers, philanthropists, and innovators from across the United States and Latin America.

Conference programming will also spotlight Los Angeles as a hub of innovation, resilience, and community leadership through site visits hosted by organizations including Building Skills Partnership, UnidosUS, AltaMed, the Latino Theater Company, and The Wall Las Memorias AIDS Monument and Health Center.

During the conference, HIP will present its Corazón Awards, honoring leaders whose work has expanded opportunity, strengthened communities, and advanced justice across the Americas.
