Announcing the 2019 HIP Líderes!

Hispanics in Philanthropy (HIP) is excited to announce that 31 outstanding Latinx Líderes have been formally invited to be part of the Líderes Fellowship starting this June! HIP’s Líderes Fellowship cultivates mid-career Latinos working in philanthropy and nonprofits by gaining knowledge, learning new practices, and building relationships within a network that supports their ability to advance and thrive. This year’s HIP Lideres represent 19 grantmaking institutions and 12 nonprofits from across the United States. Lideres were chosen on the basis of demonstrating a commitment to working for racial equity to achieve social justice.  The Fellows represent diverse Líderes — including indigenous, Afro, women, and LGBTQI Latinos — who have the courage to work in the complexity of the intersections in which we all live, including race, class, education, gender identity, ability, etc. Through the program, the Líderes will gain an increased awareness about their role in transforming the social sector and next steps they can put into action right away. The program helps Líderes:
  • Increase their agency to take action toward achieving personal goals and promoting equity within the sector
  • Learn how to apply a micro-to-macro analysis of how to navigate and promote change within various systems
  • Gain a network of deep, meaningful peer relationships nationally that foster alliance building and professional growth
  • Develop their ability to take care of their physical, mental, and spiritual health
Once they graduate, this year’s líderes — the fourth cohort of the program — will be part of a growing network of alumni who are championing change in creating a new, more equitable philanthropy that supports Latino communities across the Americas. We are excited to get to work with this year’s líderes: Want to know more? Follow #HIPLideres to stay up to date!
HIP’s Líderes Fellowship is possible thanks to the generous support of American Express Foundation, Cleveland Foundation, Conrad Hilton Foundation, Newman’s Own Foundation, Wellspring Philanthropic Fund, and Southwest Airlines. Thank you!
