CSW70 Parallel Event – Child Sexual Violence in Mexico: Justice Pathways in the Digital Era

Child sexual violence in the digital age is not an isolated phenomenon — it is a structural violation of human rights. This side event at the 70th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70) brings together a coalition of Mexican civil society organizations to elevate this urgent issue on the global agenda and advocate for effective, rights-centered justice pathways.

Drawing on frontline experience in strategic litigation and psychosocial support, Las Sabinas, Lúminas A.C., Spes Viva, and Yo Te Creo will present a collectively built position addressing:

  • Enhanced due diligence obligations for states and technology companies
  • Rights-based technology regulation to prevent and respond to online child sexual violence
  • Comprehensive reparations approaches that avoid re-victimization of survivors

This event affirms that the protection of children is not aspirational, it is an immediate legal obligation.
