Principal, Inicio Ventures

As Principal at Inicio Ventures, HIP’s first impact fund, Monica is responsible for investing, convening and engaging with the next generation of Latinx investors and founders. Prior to Inicio, Monica served as Director at the Chicago Public Education Fund, a first of its kind venture philanthropy, and was responsible for setting the vision and driving the strategy for investing in the future of Chicago's leaders in education. Monica began her career at MB Financial Bank and focused on non-profit financing, low income tax credit lending, public-private partnerships, and corporate philanthropy.

Monica is a certified Scuba diver, an avid pickleballer and a lover of pisco sours. She is also completing her MBA at Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management.
